01/17/26 Neurographic Art

According to AI this is the description of Neurographic Art:

‘Neurographic art (or Neurographica) is a meditative, therapeutic drawing method created by Pavel Piskarev, using flowing, neuron-like lines and rounded intersections to transform stress, fears, or challenges into calm, positive artworks, fostering mindfulness and neuroplasticity by connecting the conscious and unconscious mind through simple art-making without needing artistic skill, just a marker, paper.’

This is my very first drawing doing this technique.

The action of making neurographic art is to reduce stress and engage the brain’s neural pathways. The focus is on drawing basic shapes like circles, triangles and squares.

As you think of a problem or a feeling and draw the shapes, then fill them in with patterns or colors, you are reducing tension in your mind and body. The idea is to smooth the lines and create a piece of art that has no pre-planned design. This allows the brain to relax and then the body relaxes.

You only need paper, black markers, and colored pencils or watercolors. You can do this anywhere with just a pencil and paper.

I actually find this type of art very relaxing. It distracts me from what is going on in my life and in the world.

But I modified it because I am both an artist and evidently neurodivergent in my thinking. The original idea in this discipline is to round out and smooth all the lines to create a softness and remove all the sharp points. This is supposed to help with relaxation.

But I couldn’t just do it the original way, I wasn’t satisfied with the smoothness. It became very boring for me. So, I did this:

After doing a couple of these drawings I realized I had been doing something like this for years. Here are a couple of the drawings from my 2016 coloring book. As you can see, they don’t necessarily fit the exact definition of neurographic art. They are similar and I really enjoy creating these pieces.

I continue to experiment with the designs and how to incorporate things like flowers, like this one;

There are a lot of wonderful images of neurographic art on the internet.

No artistic skills are required for this. Just a few minutes of your time and your paper and pen or pencil.

I hope you try this. I sometimes sit and doodle with this just to fill the time while I watch tv. I hate to just sit in front of the tv and not have something to work on in my lap. That’s my ADHD/neurodivergent brain working overtime.

Here are a couple of my designs turned into paintings.

In my next post I am going to talk about neurodivergence.

Have a good week and experiment. And always make a  mess.

 January 11, 2026

Today, while looking through photos of my art, I looked through my poems. I was trying to match art to affirmations for my Facebook videos. I found this poem and thought I would share it. I paired it with this painting from 2016.

DID YOU KNOW THAT?

Did you see that?

The tiny sparkle of light

It just flashed past me

On the edge of my sight.

Did you hear that?

The sound of a tiny bell

Whispering in the air

Just where I cannot tell.

Did you feel that?

The brush of a soft breeze

It touched my arm just now

Gently as you please.

Did you smell that?

The smallest little scent

It was just right here

Then off somewhere it went

Did you know that?

Even when you aren’t aware

Angels love and guide you

In all your life they share.

And, did you know that?

When asking God to help you

It brings Angels to your side

Not just one, but quite a few.

 January 5, 2026

Self-Improvement and Timing

It’s the fifth of January of 2026. For months spiritual leaders and others have been talking about the new year.

'2025 was a nine, an ending year. Let go of all things that don’t serve you. 2026 is a one year and is going to be a  new beginning for you.'

 That’s great.

But, that is so much a blanket statement. It lives in the idea that we are all identical. It creates the illusion that we have to wait until January first to make changes in our lives. It makes it sound like we have to ride the wave that everyone else in the world is riding.

 Nonsense! Rubbish!

We are all individuals. We do not need to live our lives dependent on everyone else. Yes the idea of the one year and new beginnings does have some energetic influence on everyone.

If you get into numerology you will find that you need to add your birthdate, month and day, to discover what year it is for you.

My birthday is May 19. That is 5 plus 19. There are two ways to add the numbers. 5 plus 1 plus 9 equals 15, which equals a 6. Or 5 plus 19 makes 24 which reduces again to a 6.

But my birthday isn’t until May, which means I am still in the 2025 energy, So I add the 2025, which is a nine, to my 6 and find I am in a 6 year until my birthday. At that time I will enter what will be a seven.

In numerology the number six is about domestic concerns, peacemaking, stability, worry, making sacrifices, discontent. And for me this has been very accurate.

I am the primary, full-time caregiver to my husband, who has Parkinson’s. He also has early stages of the dementia that comes when someone is in the later stages of Parkinson’s. We also live with my 53-year-old daughter, and some days our relationship hits big speedbumps. Finances have been a challenge as well.

I am in the energy of the six year until May, which means I will continue to have these challenges for a few more months. But the influence of the seven year should begin to show themselves a couple of months before my birthday.

Of course, my husband is in a three year, his birthday is June 24. My daughter is in a seven year, her birthday is May 29. So we are all dealing with different numerological energies. They will be in those energies until their birthdays.

Below I will include some of the meanings of the numbers to give you an idea what they influence in your life.

Yes, 2026 does reduce to a one. But there is  more to the numerology of a year than just the year itself.  But just looking at the energy of the 2025 or 2026 only tells part of the story.

Don’t let the hype make you crazy.

The truth is we are changing all the time and should make the changes we perceive are necessary, when WE feel it is time.

You will know when you need to let go of things and when you need to start something new. You will see signs, hints from the universe that push you toward the necessary changes.

And using the first of the year to clarify your goals and the changes you are making is helpful. But don’t wait just because someone says this is the time. Do it on your time and how you want to do it.

*I used the book Numerology Has Your Number by Ellin Dodge for the above numerology descriptions. There are many books on the market on numerology if you want more information.

Enjoy the new year. Be creative and always make a mess.
